I spent a few weeks on the streets of Melbourne to test how good a lens you can get for under $100. TT Artisan have made an amazingly affordable lens for mirrorless full frame cameras that opens the door to experimenting with fast primes on a budget. This lens is available for Sony, Nikon and Leica mounts. 00:00 Intro 01:37 Character 03:55 A Word From Ewen 04:19 QV Market 05:31 Fifty Plus 08:07 Absolute Bargain My Zine https://ewenbell.com/zine, My Newsletter https://ewenbell.com/subscribe, #EwenTube #Photography #TTArtisan #50mm

Yes fair call on that! And yes I'll be in this mono phase for a while to come!

I did shoot some food shots in colour and could have used those, but then it felt weird to suddenly step into colour without having an entire section in colour. And the food shots weren't great, so I just didn't show them.

Impressive little lens. At that price I could be tempted to replace my ageing 50 mm f/1.8 Nikkor in F-mount on my Z6II, just to have something a bit more compact than the 50 mmm + FTZ converter.

One small niggle - I would really have liked to see a couple of images in color in order to see whatever chromatic aberrations the lens suffers from wide open. Ah well. When you have a monochromatic phase, you have a monochromatic phase - that is what it is. 😃
